Record Numbers attend the Jobs Fair

With the opportunity to meet prospective employers and discover the array of jobs available, people descended on the Landmark Hotel from 2pm onwards.  When the Fair opened at 3pm, huge numbers presented for the event which caused some delays which the Local Enterprise Office and the Department of Social Protection apologise for.  However due to the patience and understanding of those in attendance once a backlog was cleared, movement was more freeflowing towards the evening time.

With over 320 jobs available on the day, as well as a number of job bridge opportunities, local jobs with smaller businesses, there were local jobs avaialble with smaller businesses also and plenty of opportunities to submit your CV and meet with potential employers.

A key feature for many was the presence of a local HR Expert, Carmel Murphy of HR Solutions who offered free CV reviews.

Speaking at the event Joe Lowe, Head of Local Enterprise at the Local Enterprise Office Leitrim said "we felt the time was right for another Jobs Fair having previously ran them in 2007 and 2008, while we could not predict the numbers who would attend the event, we were astounded at the level of interest on the day.  I would like to thank all those in attendance both the exhibitors and the public for their co-operation to make it a truly worhtwhile event"

Organised by the Local Enterprise Office Leitrim and the Department of Social Protection the event showcased a wide variety of jobs available in the region.  With twelve companies and four recruitment agencies and a combined 320 jobs available, inital feedback has been very positive as employers gathered many CV's from highly skilled people and it is anticipated that many jobs can be filled as a result of the fair.
